Welcome! My name is Jeremy Ladd. I'm a Spanish teacher at Hueytown High School and I'm excited to have you (or your child) in my class! Allow me to share a bit of background information about myself: I started studying Spanish in high school just like you! I loved it so much I decided to major in Spanish in college. After high school, I attended Northeast Alabama Community College where I obtained three Associate degrees. From NACC I transferred to Berry College in Rome, GA in order to pursue a Bachelor degree. I graduated from Berry in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. After graduating from Berry College, I moved to Ponferrada, Spain as part of a program to give Spanish high school students access native English speakers. I worked at Instituto Álvaro de Mendaña for seven months teaching English to students age 12-18. I returned to the United States in 2010 and moved to Birmingham. I worked at a job I hated for two years before deciding to go to graduate school in order to pursue a teaching certificate. I graduated from the University of Alabama in December 2013 with a Master of Arts degree in Education. Teaching Spanish combines all my passions and I love every minute of it. I am so proud of the journey that brought me to Hueytown High to share my enthusiasm for Spanish with you!
